The Desktop displays several widgets to aid in study management. Some of these widgets are similar to the Study Homepage widgets. However, Desktop widgets cannot be moved or removed from the Desktop.

Announcements

Similar to the Study Homepage Announcements widget, this widget displays announcements created by workgroup administrators. Only admins and contributors may edit announcements on production servers. When these announcements are marked as read, they will be removed from the Desktop until they are marked as unread or until a new announcement is made. To access all announcements including those marked as read, click the ‘VIEW ALL’ link.

Calendar

The Calendar widget displays an at-a-glance month view of the Calendar collaboration tool and acts as a portal to the Calendar collaboration tool. It displays the monthly view of the calendar for the study along with the events occurring during those time frames. With the widget, you can print the current view of the calendar, view tasks, and overlay multiple calendars. For more information, review the Calendar collaboration tool documentation.

My Checklists

The My Checklists widget is available on the Desktop for those with access to the Cross Study Managers.

Prerequisites

If any prerequisites have been set for a particular trial, this widget displays the list of trainings grouped by type. The widget also notes whether the training is Required or Optional.

Workflow Preview

If a query workflow is configured for a study, this widget displays a summary of workflow items that need to be reviewed.
