Summary

This article describes two ways to review the reports.

Table of Contents

Reports can be viewed in two ways. The first way involves adding the specific Ad-Hoc report to the study homepage as a widget. The second way involves running the report through the Ad-Hoc Reports screen.

Note: The accessibility of each report is determined by the report’s configured permissions.

Run Reports on Ad-Hoc Reports Screen

  1. Hover the mouse over the ‘Reports’ tab and select ‘Ad-Hoc Reports.’ Alternatively, directly clicking the ‘Reports’ tab will also bring you to Ad-Hoc Reports.
  2. On the Ad-Hoc Reports page click the ‘Run’ icon.

The report will open within the browser or start to download depending on the report’s type and output setting.

Viewing Reports

Executing your report will redirect you to a page where you can view your results. From this page, you are provided with several navigational utilities, as well as a range of features allowing you to utilize your reports outside of the EDC & Medical Coding product.

From this screen you may:

  • Change the number of results displayed per page.
  • Sort each column in ascending or descending alphanumeric order.
  • Navigate via ‘First’, ‘Last’, ‘Next’, and ‘Previous’ buttons.

Searching the Report

The search bar in ad-hoc reporting operates differently from the search features available elsewhere in the software suite. There are no parameters to narrow the search result. Entering text in the search field will locate matches across all columns of the table at the same time.

Using the Report

To the right of the search bar are several buttons that allow you to change the report into a form that renders it useful outside of the report page.

Copy the Report

Clicking the ‘Copy’ button beside the search bar will copy the report results to the clipboard. This will allow you to then paste the results in and Excel spreadsheet, or other document format of your choice.

Export to CSV

Clicking the ‘CSV’ button beside the search bar will generate a CSV file containing the results of your report. This function will trigger a prompt asking that you choose a location to save the new document.

Export to PDF

Clicking the ‘PDF’ button beside the search bar will generate a PDF copy of your report results. This function will trigger a prompt asking that you choose a location to save the new document.

Clicking the ‘Print’ button beside the search bar will redirect you to a page containing your results, but absent of any navigational tools. This provides you a clean view of your results that you may print using your browser’s printing utilities. In the Print Screen will be a reminder that you can press the ESC key in order to return back to the report.
