Summary

This article covers the high level actions that are executable from the Trial Manager.

The green ‘Actions’ tab provides several high level actions that are executable from the Trial Manager. This tab can be found in the upper-right corner of the screen once you have navigated to the Trial Manager page. Below is a description of the available actions and their use. Bear in mind that some actions may not be visible depending on the role  the Trial Manager is being accessed from.

Enroll Trial

Before the primary functionality of the Trial Manager can be accessed, a trial must be enrolled. The steps below describe this procedure.

  1. From your desktop, navigate to the Trial Manager.
  2. Mouse over the green ‘Actions’ tab in the upper-right corner, and select the ‘Enroll Trial’ option from the list that appears.
    If there are multiple Trial Managers available, you will be prompted to choose a site. Otherwise skip Step 3 and 4.
  3. Choose a site from the drop down menu to place your trial in.
  4. Click the ‘Next’ button.
  5. Complete the Setup form based on your desired study configuration.
Note: The Protocol field must begin with a letter. After the initial commit of a study, the protocol field can be updated to begin with a number.

  1. Click ‘Check Data’ at the bottom of the page.
Note: Certain actions like clicking away from a question field can trigger a form check without clicking.
  1. When the check completes, click the ‘Save Form’ button that appears.

Create Sub Client

The Trial Manager enables users with the proper permissions to create sub client versions of the Trial Manager and Enterprise Manager contained within the originals. These operate with the same functionality but may be useful organizationally by keeping the operations of multiple studies separate.

To create a sub client:

  1. Navigate to the Trial Manager from your desktop.
  2. Mouse over the green ‘Actions’ tab, and select ‘Create Sub Client’ from the list that appears.
  3. Enter a name for the new sub client in the form provided.
  4. Click the checkboxes beside the roles to be included in the new Trial and Enterprise Managers.
  5. Click the ‘Create’ button.

Access must be assigned to the new managers before they will appear on a user’s desktop.



Exports

The information on sites created in the Trial Manager can also be exported in CSV or Excel format. Upon completion of the action, exports are downloaded into a compressed file containing your results.

  1. Navigate to the Trial Manager.
  2. Mouse over the green ‘Actions’ tab.
  3. Click the export format of your choice.

You will be prompted to choose a save location for your export once the operation is completed.

Teamwork Actions

The following Teamwork actions are available to the Configurator and Teamwork Configurator roles.

Actions from the Setup Page of Standard Trials

  1. Convert to Teamwork Master
  2. Convert to Teamwork Sandbox

Actions from the Teamwork Master Page

  1. Create Sandbox

Actions from the Teamwork Sandbox Page

  1. Pull from Master
  2. Push to Master
  3. Clean Pull from Master
