This article covers how to create, manage, and search events.

Through event creation and management, events can be more easily tracked and organized. Four different types of events can be created and shared with particular users or entire workgroups as described below.

Create Events

Events can be created in multiple ways. This section describes how to use the ‘Create’ button included in the different Calendar views.

Select Event Type

  1. Depending on the Calendar View, locate and click the ‘Create’ button.
  2. Select one of the four following event types:
    • Single-Day Event – An event that occurs on a single day.
    • Multi-Day Event – An event that occurs on multiple, consecutive days.
    • Recurring-Daily Event – An event that occurs on specific days for the specified months.
    • Recurring-Weekly Event – An event that occurs on a specific day of the week for the specified months.

Complete Event Form

Depending on the selected event type, different fields are required for form completion.

  1. Subject: Enter a short name for the event.
Note: This name is displayed on all the Calendar Views.


  1. Description: Optional. Enter a description for the event.
  2. Files: Optional. Review the steps for attaching a file if a file should be attached to the event.
  3. Date Information: Depending on the type of event, complete all required date information.
Note: If no begin and end time is provided, the event will be set as an All Day event.


  1. Owner: If the event is a personal event, select your name from the list of owners. Otherwise, select the workgroup that the event pertains to.
Note: Only Study Administrators can set the owner as a specific workgroup. Furthermore, the dropdown list of selectable owners reflects the list of currently viewed calendars. If a workgroup or calendar name is not included in the list, assure that it is included in the current Study Filter.


  1. Permission: Select the appropriate permission.
  2. Contact information: Optional. Complete the fields related to contact information.
  3. Based on what you would like to do next, perform one of the following actions.
    • If you would like to save the event and immediately create another, click the ‘Save and New’ button.
    • If you would like to save the even and immediately share the event with others, click the ‘Save and Share’ button.
    • If you would like to save the event and return to the last calendar view, click the ‘Save’ button.
    • If you would not like to save the event, click the ‘Cancel’ button.

Manage Events with Agenda View

The Agenda View lists all events for a specified range of dates. The Agenda view also supports the filtering of events and a search bar to search through events.

Edit or Delete Events

To edit or delete an event individually, click the icon beside the appropriate event.


Multiple events can be deleted simultaneously by checking the checkboxes beside the appropriate events and clicking the ‘Delete’ tab.

Change Permissions

  1. Check the checkbox beside the appropriate events.
  2. Hover the mouse over the ‘Permission’ tab and select the appropriate permission type.

Filter Events

Events can be filtered by their type. To filter events, hover the mouse over the ‘Filter’ tab and select the appropriate event type.


Search Events

The search bar is located at the top of the Agenda View and can be used to search for a specific event. By clicking a letter, you can also search events by the first letter of the event name.

The basic search feature allows you to search by Description, Contact Phone, Contact Name, Contact Email, Name, Event Location, Web Address or Event Host. To find a specific event, follow the following steps.

Enter the text that you’d like to search for in the ‘Find Calendar Events’ textbox.

Select the field that you’d like to search by in the dropdown list.


  1. Click the ‘Find’ button.

At any time during the search process, you can clear the search. To clear a search when performing a basic search, click the ‘Reset’ link in the search bar.
