Problems Signing In

The Fountayn login screen offers a link to a tool that helps users access their applications when they have forgotten their usernames and passwords or if their account has been locked. However, it is only effective if users update their profiles following their initial access to the Fountayn Platform.

  1. On the Sign In page, click the ‘Problems Signing In?’ link.
  2. On the Sign In Support screen, click the ‘Click here’ button beside the appropriate option to do one of the following:

    • Unlock your account
  3. Follow the instructions provided to complete the action.

Requirements and Settings

System Requirements

Operating System

Windows 10 or Higher Recommended
Note that we have not officially tested the current version of the Fountayn Platform on Windows 8, Linux, Mac OS X and older Windows operating systems. We do have customers and internal users who successfully use those operating systems, however we can only provide best effort support for them. Because of the web-based nature of the Fountayn Platform, the web browser you use has a much greater effect on Fountayn usability than your operating system.

Anti-Virus Protection

Although not required with the use of the Fountayn Platform, it is strongly recommended that all client operating systems are protected with anti-virus software.

Internet Connection Speed

Modem with 56k or higher. For optimal performance a broadband connection or faster connection is recommended. (e.g. DSL, cable modem, ISDN, T1 or E1)

Computer Access Rights

No local computer administrative access rights are required to use the Fountayn Platform. The only administrative requirement identified is for users of the Image Library, ECG Library and eTrain. It is a onetime requirement of an authorized administrator to install the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) for the users of the Image Library, ECG Library and eTrain. However, many computers already have the JRE pre-installed.

Firewall

The Fountayn Platform is secured with 128 bit SSL encryption. TCP ports 80 and 443 outbound must be open to allow access to Fountayn.

Browser Version

Current or the most immediate past version of Google ChromeTM, Firefox®, Microsoft EdgeTM or Safari® (for MAC)

Note: We have not officially tested the current version of Fountayn on other browsers, but we provide best effort support for all major browsers. Fountayn should display correctly in any modern browser that supports web standards.

Browser Recommendations

At Fountayn, we’re committed to developing applications that go beyond the limits of traditional software to provide the ultimate user experience. Although we want every user to enjoy an optimum experience using our system, we recognize it is impossible to develop a solution that works identically, efficiently and effectively with all browsers and operating systems. Accordingly, Fountayn recommends the use of the current or the most immediate past version of Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari (for MAC) whenever accessing Fountayn to take full advantage of the solution’s new and evolving features and to minimize any disruption arising from incompatibility with older or outdated browser versions. Also, Fountayn recommends users set their browser at no greater than 125% magnification when viewing/working in Fountayn.

In an effort to meet our customers’ growing needs, our teams make use of new capabilities available in modern, up-to-date browsers to maximize security, performance and the ultimate user experience. Fountayn’s development and testing efforts are intended to leverage the benefits and functionality made available in the most recent version of the browsers described above. In today’s digital world, billions of people use Internet-connected devices powered by cloud service-based applications, spanning both work and life experiences. Running a modern browser is more important than ever for the fastest, most secure experience on the latest Web sites and services, connecting anytime, anywhere, on any device.

Although accessible through browsers other than those described in the ‘System Requirements – Browser Version’ section above, the corresponding user experience of Fountayn  may reflect a diminished user experience, and certain visual effects and functionality may be affected or unavailable. As noted above, to ensure the optimal user experience, upgrade to the latest versions of Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari (for MAC).

Browser Version

The following sections describe how to check the version of each supported browser. Generally, the version number is in a format similar to #.#.####.##. The first digit is the major version number which must be either the current or most immediate past version for the browser.

Firefox

  1. Click the orange Firefox button and hover over the ‘Help’ option.
  2. In the Help submenu, select ‘About Firefox.’

Google Chrome

  1. Click the ‘Customize and control Google Chrome’ button.
  2. In the menu that appears, select ‘About Google Chrome.’

Safari

  1. Click the ‘Safari settings’ button.
  2. In the menu that appears, select ‘About Safari.’

Microsoft Edge

  1. Select More in the upper-right corner, and then select Settings.
  2. Look for the version under ‘About this app’.

Upgrade Browser

If your browser is out of date, you can follow the appropriate link below to upgrade your browser. If using an employer’s computer, your permissions will determine whether or not you can upgrade the browser yourself. If you cannot upgrade your browser, you may need to contact your IT department to complete the upgrade.

Note: Web browsers will usually keep themselves up-to-date only within a version number. For instance, if Microsoft releases a patch for Microsoft Edge (100.1), you will obtain it automatically through a windows update. However, you would not be upgraded to the next version (101.0). Firefox operates on the same principle.

Browser Settings and Plugins

Javascript must be enabled for many Fountayn functions to work correctly. By default all browsers are enabled with this feature.
