Fountayn’s Learning Management System (LMS)
Fountayn’s LMS is developed based on SCORM 2004 3rd Edition but not SCORM 2004 3rd Edition compliant. Fountayn’s LMS supports the minimum requirements specified in the SCORM 2004 3rd Edition documentation plus LMS specific implementations.
To be SCORM 2004 3rd Edition compliant, a LMS has to adhere the compliance requirements defined for the following compliance categories:
- LMS Run-Time Environment Version 1.0
- LMS Content Aggregation Model Version 1.0
- LMS Sequencing and Navigation Version 1.0
The requirements summary for each compliance categories will be discussed in the following sections and short notes will be added to each requirement if Fountayn’s LMS only meet the requirement partially.
LMS Run-Time Environment Version 1.0
To meet the LMS Run-Time Environment Version 1.0 requirements, the LMS shall:
- Be able to lunch an asset.
- Be able to launch a known SCORM 2004 3rd Edition Compliant Sharable Content Object (SCO).
- Provide and expose an API Instance as a Document Object Model (DOM) object that correctly implements all of the API methods.
- Implement correct support for all SCORM 2004 3rd Edition Run-Time Environment Data Model Elements.
Note: Fountayn’s LMS supports all Run-Time Environment Data Model Elements except cmi.comments_from_lms, cmi.mode and cmi.credit.
- Implement correct support for all SCORM 2004 3rd Edition Navigation Data Model Elements.
LMS Content Aggregation Model Version 1.0
To meet the LMS Content Aggregation Model Version 1.0 requirements, the LMS shall:
- Be able to upload and process a known compliant SCORM 2004 3rd Edition Content Aggregation Application Profile content package.
- Initialize correctly SCORM 2004 3rd Edition Run-Time Environment data model elements based on information supplied in a content package manifest.
LMS Sequencing and Navigation Version 1.0
To meet the LMS Sequencing and Navigation Version 1.0 requirements, the LMS shall implement correctly:
- All of the sequencing behaviors defined by the pseudo-code included in the SCORM 2004 3rd Edition Sequencing and Navigation (SN) Version 1.0.
Note: Fountayn’s LMS supports the following sequencing requirements:
- controlMode: choice, choiceExit, flow, forwardOnly
- rollupRules
- primaryObjective
- deliveryControls: tracked, completionSetByContent, objectiveSetByContent
- constrainedChoiceConsiderations: constrainChoice, preventActivition
- rollupConsiderations: measureSatisfactionIfActive
Implementation
- Support for all SCORM 2004 3rd Edition Navigation Data Model Elements except for Exit and Abandon.
