This report type can be created by generating a report in the Reports tab in the Fountayn system and selecting ‘Pie Chart’ from the dropdown on the output screen.
The Pie Chart produces a chart where the data is categorized and displayed like pieces of a pie. The names on the legend are taken from the column headers (row oriented) or an identifier field (column oriented) in the report and each field represents a slice of the chart. Expected values are an identifier column and a data column. Please note that this report works best when using aggregated data. If more than one set of data is used, only the first set of data will be used in the chart.
The following appear as options for this output type:
Height
This height will be used to size the area where the chart will be drawn. The chart will be sized accordingly within the container. The measurement is in pixels. There are approximately 100 pixels per inch on the average monitor.
Width
This width will be used to size the area where the chart will be drawn. The chart will be sized accordingly within the container. The measurement is in pixels. There are approximately 100 pixels per inch on the average monitor.
Chart Top
This option determines the location of the placement of the top of the actual chart (excluding the axis and legends) and is expressed as a distance from the top border. Leaving the field blank will result in an auto calculation of the value (recommended in most cases). Otherwise, two formats are supported: a number (a value in pixels), or a number followed by % (a percentage).
Chart Left
This option determines the location of the placement of the left edge of the actual chart (excluding the axis and legends) and is expressed as a distance from the left border. Leaving the field blank will result in an auto calculation of the value (recommended in most cases). Otherwise, two formats are supported: a number (a value in pixels), or a number followed by % (a percentage).
Chart Area Width
This option determines the width of the actual chart (excluding the axis and legends) within the overall display area. Leaving the field blank will result in an auto calculation of the value (recommended in most cases). Otherwise, two formats are supported: a number (a value in pixels), or a number followed by % (a percentage).
Chart Area Height
This option determines the height of the actual chart (excluding the axis and legends) within the overall display area. Leaving the field blank will result in an auto calculation of the value (recommended in most cases). Otherwise, two formats are supported: a number (a value in pixels), or a number followed by % (a percentage).
Include Header
If set to true (the default), header information will be included at the top of the report (report title, date and time of creation, workgroup, study, and site names). If set to false, only the report title will display above the report.
Data/Date Identifier
Data that will be used to identify the data series is selected using this field selector. For the Timeline Graph, this column must contain date values.
Chart Data Mode
Data can be presented to the chart in a row oriented manner (1 field in the report = 1 set of data on the report) or a column oriented manner (1 field in the report = 1 point within a set of data on the chart). The row oriented presentation is more common.
Include Data Table
If True, a table of the data used to generate the chart will be displayed below the chart, sized to the same width.
Include Table Paging
If True (and a table is included with the chart), paging functionality will be included in the data table.
Table Page Size
This value is used to determine the number of results per page if paging is enabled on a data table.
Display in 3D
This setting is used to determine if the chart is shown in a 3D view or not. Defaults to false.
Legend Position
This setting determines the location of the legend. Defaults to right except for the Scatter Chart which defaults to None.
Pie Slice Text
The content of the text on the slice can be percentage (the percentage of the slice size out of the total), value (the quantitative value of the slice), label (the name of the slice) or none (no text is displayed)
