This article describes how to enable further customization of union reports through the use of two types of properties.

Union Report Properties enable further customization of reports through the use of two types of properties as described in the following sections.

Sorts

Sorts allow the user to choose the display order of the data. For example, it might be useful to sort demographic information by the subject’s age.

  1. On the Report Properties screen select ‘Create Sort…’
  2. On the ‘Create Sort’ screen select a field from the dropdown list.
Note: This list reflects the fields available for the reports being combined.


  1. Select the order that should be used when sorting by the field selected in step 2.
  2. Click the ‘Save’ button.

The new sort will be displayed on the Report Properties screen.

Field Names

Each Field Name corresponds to the name used in the report. By default the field names use the question type id for each question. This section describes how to rename those fields for the report.

  1. On the Report Properties screen click the ‘Edit’ icon beside any field name that you want to change.
  2. In the ‘Modify Field Name’ window that appears, enter the New Field Name.
  3. Click the ‘Save’ button.
    • The new field name will be displayed on the Report Properties screen.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 for all Field Names that you want to change.
