Summary

This article discusses the configuration of both Roles and Entities.

With the exception of the CTMS Administrator and FYTN Support roles (role utilized for Fountayn assistance), which are managed through the Enterprise Management tool, all roles, permissions, and entities can all be configured from CTMS Settings.

In CTMS we divide users and their associated roles into two primary categories, Unrestricted Users and Restricted Users. These two types of user roles define both the roles available to the user account, as well as the types of restrictions we can place on what is displayed in areas of the system for which the user has access. Restrictions on what is displayed for a user can be modified through the creation of objects called Entities, which are named associations of records that can be assigned to a particular user.

Role-based prerequisite training can be used enforce training requirements before providing the requested users with access to CTMS. Information on prerequisites can be found here.
