This article covers how to add, edit, and move answer options in a managed list.

Managed Lists are answer option values used across questions in CTMS forms. The Managed List section in CTMS Settings allows users the ability to add, edit or remove answer options for Managed List. If a question uses a Managed List, on the Display Configuration screen for the question Managed List will display for the Answer Type.



Add Answer Option

To Add an answer option to a Managed List perform the following steps:

  1. Select “Add Option” from the Actions Menu on the Managed List Screen for the Managed List on which the answer option should be added.
  2. The Add Option Dialog will appear.
  3. Enter the text that should appear for the answer option in the “Option Text” field.
  4. Select Add to add the option to the Managed List.

Edit Answer Options

To Edit an existing answer option found in a Managed List perform the following steps:

  1. Select the Edit Icon (Edit Icon) for the answer option to edit.
  2. The Edit Option Dialog will appear.
  3. On the Edit Option Dialog the Option Text and Visibility setting can be updated.
  4. The Option Text is the text that will display for the answer option.
  5. Visibility – If an answer option has been added and then needs to be removed from the options the Visibility setting should be updated. The options are:
      1. Visible – This is the Default setting for all answer options. When using this setting the answer option will display as an option for selection.Hide When Unused – When using this setting if the answer option has been selected on an existing form the answer option will still appear as the answer. For all new forms created or existing forms with the answer option as an option and not answered the answer option will not appear.
  1. Select Save to save the changed settings in the Edit Option Dialog.
     

Move Answer Option Order

To move the order of how the answer options appear on a form the user can click and drag an answer option up or down to change the location of the answer option in the dropdown.



Initially Blank Managed List

Some Managed List begin blank and need to be populated during the implementation period. The list of initially blank managed list are:

  • CRO List
  • Indication List
  • Sponsor List
