If you have forgotten your password or your account is locked, you can use the Reset Password feature to receive an email containing a unique link to the ‘Reset Password’ screen. The most common way to reset your password is through the ‘Login’ page. If you do not wish to reset your password through the ‘Login’ page, you can also contact Fountayn University.

Initiate Password Reset on Login Screen

To reset your password from the ‘Login’ page, you need to know your username. If you do not know your username, you can request that your username be emailed to you through the ‘Sign In Support’ page or you can contact Fountayn University.

  1. On the ‘Login’ page click the ‘Problems Signing In?’ link.
  2. On the ‘Sign In Support’ page, click the ‘Click here’ button beside the message related to a locked account, a forgotten password or a forgotten security answer, based on what you need.
  3. On the ‘Forgotten Password / Unlock Account / Forgotten Security Answer’ screen, enter your username.
  4. Click the ‘Continue’ button.
The system will inform you that instructions for resetting your password have been emailed to the address associated with the account.
  5. Click the ‘OK’ button to return to the login screen.

Complete Reset Password Process

After initiating a password reset, you will receive an email with instructions on how to reset your password. This email includes a link for resetting your password. The link will expire 72 hours from the time that the email was sent.

  1. Open the Password Reset email and click the link to reset your login credentials.
Note: If you do not click the link and reset the password with 72 hours of requesting the password reset, the link will expire and you will need to initiate the password reset again.
  1. On the ‘Password Expired’ screen, click the ‘OK’ button to continue with the password reset.
  2. Complete the ‘Sign In Information’ form.
After you enter a new password in the first text box, the system will indicate the password’s strength. To be accepted, the password must be 8 to 20 characters, start with a letter, include at least one number and one non-hyphen special character, and contain at least five unique characters.
  3. Click the ‘Save’ button.
If your account was configured to use the security question feature, you will need to re-enable the feature after resetting your password.
