This article describe how to perform a basic search and clear the search.

The search bar is located at the top of the Files Manager and can be used to search for a specific file. By clicking a letter, you can also search files by the first letter of the file name.

When beginning a search, it is important to note your location in the Files Tree because the search feature functions at the currently selected level. For example, if you’re viewing the Personal Files folder, the search results will only display those files found in the Personal Files folder. To search across all files, assure you are at the top level by selecting ‘Files’ within the Files Tree.

Basic Search

The basic search feature allows you to search by Name, Description or Previous Name. To locate a specific file, follow the steps below.

  1. In the ‘Find Files’ text box, enter part of the file’s name or description.
  2. Select ‘Name’, ‘Description’ or ‘Previous Name’ from the drop down list based on the information you entered in step 1.
  3. Click the ‘Find’ button.

Clear the Search

At any time during the search process, you can clear the search. After clearing a search, the system will display all contents of the currently viewed folder.

To clear a search, click the ‘Reset’ link in the search bar.
