At the Enterprise Manager level, Fountayn customers are able to define the file extensions that are acceptable for upload. The file extension settings apply to all workgroups under the enterprise manager for which the properties are defined. The following guide presents the steps necessary for defining the File Properties for Blacklist, Whitelist and Requiring an Extension.
Access File Properties
- In the navigation menu, select ‘Enterprise Manager.’
- From this screen, right-click the root node to view the Workgroup Actions menu.
The root node will be the first listing at the top of the Enterprise Manager workgroup tree. - Select the ‘File Properties’ option from the Workgroup Actions menu.
- The Manage File Properties screen will appear.
Update File Properties
- Select List Type.
- Blacklist – Blacklist means files types defined cannot be uploaded into the system.
- Whitelist – Whitelist means the file types defined are the only type of files that can be uploaded into the system.
- Define the File Types (extensions) based on the List Type selected. Specify as a comma separated list of file extensions. Example: exe,com
- Select the checkbox for Do Not Allow Files Without Extensions if files without extensions are not allowed to be uploaded.
- Save the File Properties.
File Errors
When File Properties are defined and a user attempts to upload a file with an extension that has been defined on the Blacklist or is not an approved extension defined on the Whitelist, the user will receive the following error and the file will not be uploaded.
