Summary

This article covers how to change role selection preferences.

Within each clinical trial, users have access to one, or a set of roles. Historically, these roles were used individually, and the user could switch between them to access different aspects of the trial. With the introduction of the Unified user interface, role selection is a configurable feature that can be disabled and enabled based on the user’s preferences. When role selection is unchecked, all available permissions are combined such that a user never has to switch roles. However, sometimes users may wish to have the restrictions on a specific role enforced to avoid error. To this end, they are allowed to re-enable role selection from their profile page.

Change Role Selection Preference

By default Role Selection is unchecked so that all available permissions are combined for the user. This preference can be changed within the user’s profile.

Note: Role selection is configured for the user. This choice is not trial-specific.

  1. In the header, hover your cursor over your name and select ‘Profile.’
  2. On the Profile page, check the checkbox beside the ‘Role Selection’ option to enable Role Selection. Uncheck the checkbox to combine roles.
  3. Click the ‘Save’ button.
