This article shows how to assign, manage, and remove roles on the DataArchitect.

Selected roles can be granted the permission to create dynamic statuses, assign those statuses to subjects, and manage existing statuses. These statuses can be used to group subject records into various categories for reporting purposes. This describes how to step through the DataArchitect side of the Dynamic Status process.

DA Roles Tab Configuration

Before dynamic statuses can be used, roles must be granted permission to access the appropriate actions on the Roles worksheet. Start by going to the Roles tab in the dataArchitect file.

Enable Assign Roles

‘Assign Dynamic Status’ allows users to assign subjects to a dynamic status. ‘Assign DA Dynamic Status’ allows users to assign subjects to a dynamic status configured in Data Architect.

  1. Custom Actions: Enter ‘Assign Dynamic Status’.
  2. Actions Required: Enter ’assignDynamicStatus’.
  3. Screens Required: Leave this field blank.
  4. Custom Actions: Enter ‘Assign DA Dynamic Status (requires Assign Dynamic Status)’.
  5. Actions Requires: Enter ‘assignDynamicStatus,assignDADynamicStatus’
  6. Screens Required: Leave this field blank.
  7. Select the Roles that should perform these actions by placing an ‘X’ in the appropriate columns.

Enable Manage Role

The ‘Manage Dynamic Status’ action enables the user to edit and delete dynamic statuses.

  1. Custom Actions: Enter ‘Manage Dynamic Status’.
  2. Actions Required: Enter ‘manageDynamicStatus’.
  3. Screens Required: Leave this field blank.
  4. Select the Roles that should perform this action by placing an ‘X’ in the appropriate columns.

Enable Removal Roles

The ‘Clear Dynamic Status’ action will allow users to remove subjects from a dynamic status. ‘Clear DA Dynamic Status’ enables the user to remove subjects from a dynamic status configured in the Data Architect file.

  1. Custom Actions: Enter ‘Clear Dynamic Status’.
  2. Actions Required: Enter ‘clearDynamicStatus’.
  3. Screens Required: Leave this field blank.
  4. Under Custom Actions: Enter ‘Clear DA Dynamic Status (requires Clear Dynamic Status)’.
  5. Actions Required: Enter ‘clearDynamicStatus,clearDADynamicStatus’.
  6. Screens Required: Leave this field blank.
  7. Select the Roles that should perform these actions by placing an ‘X’ in the appropriate columns.
